قرر المفوض العام للأونروا، فيليب لازاريني، إغلاق مركز الايواء التابع للأونروا في مدرسة دير القاسي بالقرب من مخيم المية ومية للاجئي فلسطين في صيدا اليوم. وكانت الوكالة قد أعلنت أن أي انتهاك لجهودها للالتزام بالمبادئ الإنسانية في مراكز الايواء لا يمكن التسامح معه. وعلى الرغم من جهودنا للمحافظة على بيئة تحترم المبادئ الإنسانية، إلا أن هذه المبادئ لم يتم الالتزام بها في مركز الايواء في مدرسة دير القاسي، مما أدى إلى اتخاذ هذا القرار.
نحن نتفهم أن هذا القرار قد يسبب القلق والارباك في أوساط المجتمع المحلي. ومع ذلك، فإن الالتزام بالمبادئ الإنسانية أمر بالغ الأهمية للحفاظ على سلامة النازحين وموظفينا، ويظل هذا على رأس أولوياتنا. لقد عرضنا تقديم النقل إلى مراكز ايواء بديلة للنازحين المتأثرين بهذا القرار وسنستمر في تقديم الدعم لنازحينا خلال هذه الأوقات الصعبة.
UNRWA Closes Deir El Kassi Designated Emergency Shelter Today

UNRWA's Commissioner General, Philippe Lazzarini, has decided to close the Deir El Kassi Designated Emergency Shelter (DES) near Mieh Mieh Palestine Refugee Camp in Saida today. The Agency has been communicating publicly that any infringement on its efforts to maintain humanitarian principles in these shelters cannot be tolerated. Despite our efforts to maintain an environment that respects humanitarian principles, they were not upheld in the DES at Deir El Kassi School, leading to this decision.
We understand that this decision may cause concern and confusion within the community. However, adherence to humanitarian principles is crucial for maintaining the safety of displaced individuals and our staff, and this remains our top priority. We have offered transportation to alternative shelters for those affected and will continue to provide support to our displaced people during these challenging times.
