بعد أسبوع من تعليق الخدمات في عين الحلوة بسبب الاشتباكات المسلحة، استأنفت الأونروا عملياتها داخل المخيم حيث أعيد افتتاح المركز الصحي الثاني (العيادة الثانية) اليوم واستؤنف تقديم الرعاية الطبية للمرضى من لاجئي فلسطين. العديد من الأطفال بما في ذلك الأطفال حديثي الولادة أحضرهم اهلهم الى العيادة للعلاج والتطعيم. كما بدأ عمال النظافة تنظيف الشوارع من النفايات المتراكمة ورش المبيدات في المناطق الأقل تضررًا من الاشتباكات. تُحضّر الوكالة بالشراكة مع المعنيين لإجراء تقييم وإزالة مخلفات الاشتباكات من المناطق المتضررة بمجرد أن يصبح الدخول إليها متاحًا.
وقالت دوروثي كلاوس، مديرة شؤون الأونروا في لبنان، التي زارت مخيم عين الحلوة اليوم للإشراف على العودة الجزئية لعمليات الوكالة في المخيم: "نأمل ان تستمر حالة الهدوء في المخيم، سمعت اليوم عن عائلات لم تتمكن من مغادرة منازلها لعدة أيام بسبب الاشتباكات واشخاص تعرضوا للاصابة عند الهرب، وأطفال بكوا من الخوف ونساء تحولت خصلات من شعرهن إلى اللون الأبيض. ستدعم الأونروا تباعا ازالة الركام واعادة تأهيل شبكات المياه وخطوط الكهرباء المتضررة. إن البيئة الآمنة تبقى ضرورية لكي تقوم الأونروا بعملها. إننا نتعاون مع شركائنا للتحضير لتنظيف احياء المخيم المتضررة من مخلفات الاشتباكات لضمان سلامة الاهالي وموظفي الأونروا. "
UNRWA returns to Ein El Hilweh after armed clashes

Following a week-long suspension of services in Ein El Hilweh due to armed clashes, UNRWA has now resumed its operations within the camp. Health Centre II has been reopened today and resumed provision of medical care to Palestine Refugee patients. Many children including newborns were brought to the centre for treatment and vaccination. Sanitation Laborers have commenced clearing the streets from the piled-up garbage and disinfecting in the less affected areas. Working in partnership with various stakeholders, the Agency is preparing to conduct assessments and clear remnants of war from the affected zones once these become accessible again.
“We very much hope that the camp remains calm. I heard today of families unable to leave houses for days under fire and injured upon escape, children crying of fear and women’s hair turning white. UNRWA will consecutively support clearance of rubble and reinstatement of damaged water networks and electricity lines. A secure environment is necessary for UNRWA to operate. We are collaborating with partners to prepare for clearance of affected camp sites once possible to ensure the safety of the community and UNRWA staff from remnants of the war.”, said Dorothee Klaus, Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon who visited Ein El Hilweh camp today to oversee the situation and the partial reinstatement of the Agency's operations.
